2007 Farm Bill Reauthorization

Did you know that nationwide over 40 million acres of private land have been conserved as wildlife habitat due to the success of the federal Farm Bill?

Did you know the Farm Bill needs to be reauthorized by Congress in 2007 or will expire?

Do you want to learn more about how to keep the next Farm Bill and similar private-lands programs strong for wildlife, wetlands, and a healthier environment?

Farmers and ranchers have utilized programs funded by the Farm Bill to do their part in protecting private land for the sake of the nation's wildlife, clean water and productive soils.

In the United States, there are over 2 billion acres of farmland in production and millions of acres are lost to urban development each year, making it essential our nation take action to conserve and restore habitat and farmlands for the health and well-being of wildlife and humans. When we do, not only wildlife but America's communities benefit.

The National Wildlife Federation is a major supporter of the conservation features of the Farm Bill, and we need your help to maintain the benefits of this importance legislation.

There are an array of programs that are funded through this important legislation, and at least one (if not all) relate directly to you.
