Montana Wildlife Federation Again Partners with Carroll College for Our Seventh Photo Contest
Pick your best and favorite outdoor, wildlife, hunting, fishing, or recreational photos and enter them in Montana Wildlife Federation’s 7th Photo Contest by November 1, 2010.
Once again MWF is proud to be joined by Carroll College and its photography classes under the instruction of Jeff Van Tine to help manage and judge the anticipated bounty of photo entries. Founded in 1909 in Helena, Carroll offers an outstanding and affordable education that positions students aggressively for successful job placement and admission to graduate, law and medical schools. Carroll College has been nationally ranked as one of the top private catholic liberal arts colleges in the west; U.S. News and World Report ranked it as ‘Second Best Western Regional Comprehensive College’ and in America's Best Colleges for 2007.
Your favorite photo of Montana wildlife, landscapes, outdoor recreation activities, hunting or fishing could
win you a camera bag, fleece vest, or valuable Gift Certificates. F-11 Photographic Supplies of Bozeman is donating a $100 gift certificate for the 1st Place winner in the General category and a $50 gift certificate for 1st Place in the Youth category. Second Place in the General Category will receive a Vanguard Arlen 23 multi-function camera shoulder bag courtesy of the Dark Room: 2nd place in the Youth category is awarded a Youth Fleece Vest, compliments of MWF and Montana Matters. Bozeman Camera Repair has donated gift certificates for both 3rd place winners - $50 for General and $25 for Youth categories.
MWF along with Carroll staff and students will judge the submitted photos; MWF or Carroll may use the winning photos in publications but ownership of the photo remains with the photographer. “MWF urges all photographers to enter our contest,” said Craig Sharpe, MWF’s photo contest coordinator and executive director. “With so many quality entries growing each year—we’ve had from 400 to 615 entries in past contests —choosing the top three photos is a tough but rewarding effort for our professional photographer and MWF staff.” Sharpe noted that winning entrants’ images are published in MWF’s bimonthly newsletter, Montana Wildlife, and occasionally other submittals are also used.
Send your pictures of the remarkable outdoor opportunities Montana has to offer to MWF with a postmark no later than November 1, 2010. Information can also be obtained at any of the photo contest sponsors,or by calling MWF at 800-517-7256.
